Field Generation in Salesforce Prompt Builder

Introduction
Prompt Builder in Salesforce leverages Generative AI to summarize records, generate fields, and send personalized emails to customers. Among its four types, Field Generation allows users to generate field values dynamically based on AI-driven insights. This blog will walk through setting up Prompt Builder and creating a Field Generation Prompt Template.
Types of Prompt Builder
Salesforce Prompt Builder offers four types:
Field Generation – Automates field value generation.
Flex – Provides flexible AI-driven responses.
Sales Email – Assists in drafting AI-powered sales emails.
Record Summary – Summarizes record details.
Setting Up Prompt Builder
Follow these steps to enable and configure Prompt Builder in Salesforce:
1.Click on the Gear Icon and select Setup.
2.In the Quick Find Box, type Einstein Setup and select it.
3.Click Einstein Setup.
4.Turn on Einstein by clicking the toggle. If already enabled, proceed to the next step.
5.Refresh your browser to reveal new admin settings.
6.In the Quick Find Box, type Prompt, then click Prompt Builder.
7.Click New Prompt Template.
Creating a Field Generation Prompt Template
For Prompt Template Type, select Field Generation.
For Prompt Template Name, enter name.
Keep the API Name: will come automatically once we entered template name.
For Template Description, enter the description of the use case.
For Object, select object we are applying the einstein.
For Object Field, select field we want to apply einstein ai.
Click Next.
Exploring the Prompt Builder Workspace
Upon setup, the Prompt Builder Page consists of:
Prompt Builder Workspace – Area where prompts are entered.
Preview Section – Displays resolution and AI-generated responses.
Template Properties – Allows selection of models such as OpenAI ChatGPT, Azure OpenAI GPT, or custom models etc.
Using Field Generation in Account Object
Navigate to the Account Object as an example—this functionality applies to any object.
Select any record.
Convert the Record Page Layout to a Dynamic Page.
Select the Description Field of the Account.
Add Prompt Builder to it.
The Description field has a blue icon, indicating AI assistance. On the right side, Einstein AI generates insights based on account data. Clicking the "Use" button saves the generated summary into the Description field. Additionally, users can ask more questions related to the account within the Einstein AI popup for further insights.
